Baulkham Hills Baseball Club, is entering its 50th season of baseball – formed in the winter of 1969 it continues to compete in all levels within various Sydney competitions.
The club has competed in the NSW State league, the highest competition in NSW since the late 70’s winning multiple Club Championships and 1st Grade titles.
As one of the oldest Sydney Clubs still playing in this elite competition, it’s produced multiple International, National and State representatives in both Senior and Junior competitions dating all the way back to 1973.
A few years ago, the club’s operations relied heavily on two volunteers and were becoming increasingly focused on their premier senior side.
In the last 2-3 years, young volunteers were attracted to join the committee. These volunteers were empowered to make the changes needed to stimulate junior participation.
This has resulted in increased female participation, the establishment of winter programs and a disability-focused participation program.
The club also improved its community citizenship by hosting Pink sock days in support of cancer research, and other initiatives.
Another highlight for 2019 was the engagement levels and fundraising results that helped send an Under 14 team overseas to participate in an American Tournament.
This topped off a wonderful season for the club.
In 2019 the Club will field over 25 teams and over 250 players in State, Masters, Womens and Junior competitions. We wish the club all the best for its 50th season.
